Amir Abdullah Joins TOA Faculty as Voice-Over Instructor

Theatre of Arts Creative Lab is thrilled to announce that actor and voice-over artist Amir Abdullah is joining our faculty as our new Voice-Over Instructor. Amir brings decades of experience in film, television, and voice acting to our classrooms — and a deeply held commitment to helping emerging artists find their voice.

Amir will lead a series of new voice-over workshops and intensives beginning this season, covering everything from commercial and animation work to audiobook narration, ADR, and character voice development.

A Career Built on Voice

Amir Abdullah has worked as an actor and voice artist for over two decades, with credits spanning film, television, animation, video games, and audiobooks. His versatility behind the mic — moving effortlessly between warm, intimate narration and larger-than-life character work — has made him one of the most sought-after voices in the industry.

Beyond his professional credits, Amir is known for his generosity as an educator. He has coached actors at every level, from beginners taking their first microphone class to working professionals looking to expand into voice-over as a new arm of their career.

What He'll Teach at TOA

Amir's workshops at Theatre of Arts Creative Lab will focus on the practical skills every voice-over actor needs to build a sustainable career. Topics will include:

• Microphone technique and studio etiquette
• Commercial copy — cold reads, tone, and intention
• Character voice development for animation and games
• Audiobook narration — pacing, stamina, and stamina on long-form work
• Self-taping and home studio setup for auditions
• The business of voice-over — agents, unions, and auditions
